Casa Ruby offers culturally competent bilingual services for transgender, genderqueer, gender nonconforming, and queer individuals in Washington DC. They provide emergency housing, legal and case management, and counseling services to the local community.

The DC Center for the LGBT Community

This center educates and connects the local LGBTQ community. Services focus on health and wellness, arts and culture, social and peer support, and advocacy.

GLSEN provides resources for educators focused on providing a safe learning environment for LGBTQ students, free from harassment and bullying.

The Affordability Center provides economic resources to LGBTQ students in college, with guides about budgeting and managing financial expenses for undergraduate and graduate students.

National Center for Lesbian Rights

NCLR is a non-profit, public interest law firm that litigates precedent-setting cases at the trial and appellate court levels; advocates for equitable public policies affecting the LGBTQ community; provides free legal assistance to LGBTQ people and their legal advocates; and conducts community education on LGBTQ issues.

A grassroots network that unites LGBTQ people with families, friends, and allies, PFLAG is committed to advancing equality through support, education, and advocacy.

The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project offers crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to members of LGBTQ communities. They have a support center, a suicide hotline, and suicide prevention training.

TransLife Line

A peer support and crisis hotline 501 non-profit organization serving transgender people by offering phone support and microgrants. It is the first transgender crisis hotline to exist in the United States as well as Canada. It is also the only suicide hotline whose operators are all transgender.
