🔔 Today, we mark the 30th anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), a groundbreaking piece of legislation that has transformed the lives of millions.
Passed in 1994, VAWA was the first federal law to recognize domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking as serious crimes—and it continues to be a lifeline for women and girls in the United States and beyond. This landmark act has empowered survivors, increased protections, and ensured greater accountability.
While we celebrate the progress made, we also recognize there is more work to do in the fight to end gender-based violence.
